The old saves were in. "appdata/local/rockstar games/gta iv/savegames". while the new ones are in the. "documents/rockstar games/gta iv/profiles" folder. That does make a difference. I have both the original GTA IV and the new GTA IV TCE.That makes the game saves independent of each other.
I've scoured the My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\ and steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\ directory with no luck.
