When I try to open the game, the Ubisoft Connect things opens up, says that it is sync-ing achievements and stuff and then inexplicably closes by itself. It just won't let the game run, even opening it via the Library section on Steam won't work.

EDIT - Probably just luck but I installed Ubisoft Connect Launcher from desktop mode, added it as a non steam game and then ran it from game mode under Proton Experimental. Then ran Far Cry 4 and it worked. Restarted the Steam Deck and made sure it still ran and it does. Hope this works for you also. Once in, find the folder named HKEY-USERS and open it. Inside find a folder named S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxxxxx (the x are different numbers for everyone) Open that and find Software, open and find Ubisoft, in there there should be a folder named Far Cry 4, Delete it, you wont lose your save games. Just to be safe make a backup of your save. .
